Natasha Hagen

Natasha began attending births in 2020 following her own out of hospital birth experience in 2019. However, her journey to birthwork truly began before she was born, with her mother choosing an unmedicated birth. When Natasha became pregnant herself, she knew she could do the same. It didn’t take her long to realize that not everyone embarks on their journey filled with confidence and backed by a supportive family. Natasha seeks to fill those gaps for the birthing folks she works with by identifying their values; exploring their own processes and biases through art; and building a community they can rely on.

Outside of birthwork, you can find Natasha walking barefoot in the woods, devouring a book, sipping homemade kombucha, and enjoying time with her family and friends. She loves doing arts and crafts with her kiddo and frequenting the movies with her husband.

“Natasha was an incredible resource and so supportive throughout the birth of our second daughter. I was induced for our first and although I had a fast labor and healthy baby, I knew I wanted a different and more natural experience for baby #2. Natasha was so supportive and non judgmental from day 1, even when we did end up scheduling an induction. Thankfully our baby decided to come without the induction, and Natasha was right there as soon as we asked her to. She was a calming presence during the final stage of labor when I needed it the most. She empowered my husband to advocate for me and assist with coping techniques. Anyone who is on the fence about hiring a doula should definitely do it! I cannot recommend Natasha enough.”

“Natasha stepped in as a back up doula during a hospital transfer. She immediately made me feel safe and calm and stepped into the situation confidently even though we had never met previously! My husband and I were incredibly grateful to have her by our side as we welcomed our baby boy earth-side. I highly recommend Natasha to anyone interested in having a strong supportive doula!”

“Natasha has been with me through so much. I originally hired her for a pregnancy that sadly ended in miscarriage. She sent comfort, held space, and remembered our baby on their due date later that year. When I found out I was pregnant again, we reached out to recruit her for our VBAC. She invited me to Village Prenatals and introduced me to women who revered birth as a natural part of life vs a medical event. She listened as I expressed concerns and was a shoulder to cry on when I talked about the baby we lost.  When labor came, she was quick to respond (labor started around 3:30am) and swiftly met us at the birth center. She was by my side throughout labor with cool hands to ground me, towels to mop up sweat, water to sip, and support so my husband could do the essentials-be by my side unincumbered and get coffee (did I mention labor began at 3am?). She took video of our birth, which I requested and cherish-my VBAC! Most importantly, she followed us to the hospital in the chaos of an emergency transfer. She stood by my side while my husband stood by baby's. One of the initial reasons I hired Natasha was the ease at which our conversation flowed, and having her as a friend to talk to in the time between baby being taken to the NICU and when the dr finally came back to update us was invaluable. Somehow those mins passed w/o worry despite it being an incredibly stressful situation and arguably one of the hardest nights of our lives. I truly believe having her there helped mitigate a good bit of trauma.”
